How do I submit shipment photos in the Mothership app?

Everything you need to know about uploading clear photos at pick-up and delivery.

Shipment photos are an essential part of safely and efficiently servicing the loads on our network. These photos play a crucial role in protecting carriers and Mothership against loss and damage claims. In this article, we'll answer your questions about why, when, and how to submit these photos.

Why do I need to submit photos of my shipment at pickup and delivery?
Shipment photos are required to protect both you and Mothership against loss and damage claims. With timestamped photo watermarks now automatically applied in the Mothership app, each image includes the exact date, time, and location it was taken. This provides verified proof that you were on-site as reported and confirms the shipment’s condition at pickup and delivery.

When should I take photos of my shipment?
You should take photos of your shipment both at pickup and delivery. Specifically, you need to capture images of the shipment before loading it onto your truck at pickup and after unloading it at the delivery location.

What kind of photos should I take?
For each shipment, you are required to take photos of the front and back of the shipment. These photos should provide a clear view of the entire item(s) and any existing damage, if present.

How should I submit these photos?
You can easily submit the photos through the Mothership carrier mobile app. When prompted during the pickup and delivery workflow, you'll have the option to upload the required photos directly within the app.

What if there is damage to the shipment?
If you notice any damage to the shipment during pickup or delivery, it's crucial to note it in the app when submitting the photos. This documentation will help in case there is a need to file a damage claim.

What happens if I don't submit the required photos?
Failure to submit the required photos of your shipment at pickup and delivery may result in delays in payment processing and could affect your eligibility for future shipments. It's essential to adhere to this new requirement to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow.

Is there a specific format or quality requirement for the photos?
While there's no strict format requirement, we recommend taking clear and well-lit photos to ensure that any existing damage is clearly visible. Blurry or unclear images may not serve their intended purpose.

Can I submit photos taken with a different camera app?
For the best experience and seamless submission, please use the built-in photo upload feature within the Mothership app. This ensures that the photos are associated with the specific shipment in question.

We appreciate your cooperation in adhering to this new requirement, as it helps us maintain the highest standards of service and protects both you and Mothership in the event of any issues during transportation.
