Carriers can now refer customers to Mothership and earn bonuses

 

How it works

Who can I refer to Mothership?

Referrals are ideal for businesses you know that regularly ship freight. Additionally, the business must be located in one of Mothership's active zones. Please note, only companies that ship goods are eligible for referrals, not other carriers.

 

How do I refer a customer?

Referring a customer is easy and takes under a minute.

  1. First, navigate to the "Referrals" tab on your mobile application, pictured below.

  2. Tap "Add a referral" to get started.

  3. Enter the company name or business address, and select the matching company in the drop-down menu.

  4. Answer a few questions about the customer, listed below:

    1. What trucks do you see at this location?

    2. What is their estimated shipping volume?

    3. Have you serviced shipments for them?

    4. How many dock doors do they have?

  5. Finally, you'll be asked to provide contact information; this is completely optional but highly recommended.

 

How do I know the status of my referral?

On the home screen of your Referrals tab, you'll be able to see the statuses for your referrals. A referral falls under the following statuses:

  • Referred: This means that the customer referral has been submitted and is currently under review.

  • Qualified lead: A lead becomes qualified when they complete a demo meeting with a Mothership sales team member.

  • Shipped: A lead reaches first shipment status when their first shipment is completed.

  • Unqualified: A referral can be unqualified for a few reasons:

    • This business is not a good fit for Mothership.

    • They have already been referred to Mothership by another carrier.

    • We were unable to get in contact with this company based on the information provided.

 

 

How much do I earn?

We have three referral tiers, so the more you refer, the more you earn. Achieving higher referral tiers is based on the number of qualified leads you refer.

Bonuses

You will earn a matching bonus for each step when your referral reaches certain statuses. The following are the points in which you will earn bonuses:

$50 for the first shipment

$100 for the first shipment

 

Revenue share

If your referral successfully becomes a customer, you will earn a % of their shipments based on your referral tier; even if another carrier delivers for this customer, you still earn.

Checking your referral earnings

Earnings for your referrals will appear directly in the Referrals tab of your application. Referral payments will also show on the weekly earnings report. Each payment will have a description and a payment amount listed. Here is an example of what your payments could look like:

 

 

How are referral payments processed?

  • The first shipment bonus is $25, and the payment is processed the day the shipment is completed.

  • You do not receive a revenue share on the first shipment.

  • Revenue shares are paid once per week.

  • Your Referrals page will show each payment on the day the action was taken to qualify you for payment.

You'll automatically be prioritized for dispatches when you successfully refer a customer. Referring customers will help you grow your business and get paid faster.
