Accepted and prohibited freight (Mothership Carrier Network)
Here is a summary of all of the items you can ship through our platform.
The following guidelines define the commodities, freight types, and materials that are accepted or prohibited for transport through the Mothership Carrier network.
Accepted commodities (what you can ship):

Alcohol
Must be declared at the time of booking, requires the appropriate alcohol accessorial, and must comply with all federal, state, and local regulations. -
Hazardous Materials (Hazmat)
Hazardous materials are accepted only under the conditions outlined below:-
Hazardous materials shipments under 1,000 lbs are accepted on the Mothership Carrier network (local delivery), provided they are properly classified, documented, packaged, labeled, and fully compliant with all applicable regulations.

Hazardous materials shipped via LTL are accepted only on approved Mothership LTL partner carriers and must meet each carrier’s Hazmat eligibility requirements.

All Hazmat shipments must comply with U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and any additional carrier-specific rules.

Accepted freight types & packaging (what you can ship):
The following freight types and packaging formats are accepted on the Mothership Carrier network.

Palletized freight
Must be properly secured (e.g., shrink-wrapped or banded) and suitable for forklift handling.

Loose boxes
(Acceptable when shipping on the Mothership Carrier Network; not acceptable when shipping LTL with our national LTL partner carriers. Loose boxes must be palletized when shipping with our national LTL partner carriers)
Prohibited commodities (what you CAN’T ship):
The following items are not accepted for transport on the Mothership Carriers Network:

Freight requiring refrigeration or temperature-controlled transport

Freight requiring a flatbed or open-deck trailer

Personal household goods or personal effects

Wrapped or blanket-wrapped furniture
-
Bulk cargo or loose freight not suitable for palletized transport

Financial instruments, including bank bills, currency, deeds, drafts, and notes

Firearms
-
Explosives, including gunpowder and dynamite, excluding small arms ammunition (unless in approved Hazmat category)

Human corpses or human remains
-
Original works of art
-
Live animals
-
Marijuana, THC, or cannabis-related products, including hemp-derived products where prohibited by law

Schedule I and Schedule II drugs, substances, or chemicals, as defined by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA)

Waste materials, including hazardous, medical, or regulated waste

Precious metals, including gold and silver bullion, platinum, and sterling silver
